Joyce Devlin is the Director of Theatre, Acting and Directing at Mt. Holyoke College. A graduate of Columbia University, she spent ten years in professional theatre and television before beginning her academic career. Trained as an actor/dancer/singer, Ms.Devlin's interest in performance ranges from serious drama to performance art to musical theatre. Her theatrical publications include an annotated bibliography of scenes and monologues for women, and essays on the alternative British theatre. Former chair of the department, Ms. Devlin also served as president of the New England Theatre Conference and chair of the new play division of the American College Theatre Festival. She has created a performance piece on the acoustic bass, which she will perform in the Off The Deeper End concert.
