Sab, David DiSabito, born 1962,
is a budding jazz bassist. A late bloomer, he started
self-studying in 1998. Soon afterward he took lessons for a few
years from Lynn Lovell. Lynn inspired David to play in the
WNEDBS' first official large production, Off the Deep End. In
2003 she also hooked him up with Longmeadow's, Downstairs Swing Band,
specializing in Jazz Standards. David has been progressively
swinging ever since and is very interested in playing with other
musicians and substituting. David also participated in, Off the
Deep End II and is participating in this year's, Off the Deeper End.David's most enjoyable musical moments include letting loose with local jazz luminaries, pianist Stephen Silverman, alto saxophonist and clarinetist David Beauvais and vocalist, Amy Bottke. David has a passion for the sounds of the double bass and is influenced greatly by the early traditional jazz bassist, George "Pops" Foster. David is a charter member of WNEDBS and has assisted greatly in the organization of our last two productions.
He received a BS from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from Western New England College, Springfield, MA. His day gig is working for ReSTAR, Inc. of Glastonbury, CT as an accounting systems integration consultant specializing in hospitality inventory control systems.
David's real claim to fame is a happy marriage of nearly 20 years to Kate, his 5 children, David, Anna, Anthony, Joseph and John. David would also like to personally thank his son, and WNEDBS Webmaster, David M. DiSabito, III, for his many, many hours and wonderful volunteer effort in building this website.
