George Kaye is a bassist and Jazz instructor with a Bachelors Degree in
Jazz Bass from Manhattan School of music. He teaches bass and the
elements of jazz for any instrument. Residing in Holyoke, MA, he
performs at various venues in Western Mass such as Castle St and the
Vermont Jazz Center and occasionally abroad. George also maintains a
recording studio in NYC.INSTRUMENTS:
- 5/4 Size Bavarian Bass made by Ferdinand Seitz in 1827, fitted with Low C extension.
- 3/4 Juzak pre-war bass with violin corners
- Custom Upright Electric "Stick" Bass
- Yamaha Electric bass with "Jazz bass" pickups
- Electronics: Underwood pickups, custom on-bass preamp, Polytone and Walter Woods amplifiers, various speakers.
