What does WNEDBS do for you?

  1. Network - Finding others to share the joy and frustrations with. Share technical knowledge, musical repertoire, maintenance tips. Find teachers, colleagues, sellers & buyers of basses, bows, and other equipment. Hear the stories of experienced players to learn from.

  2. Performance - Enjoy a very unique opportunity to perform with other bassists of all ages and abilities in large group orchestras or small ensembles. Play new styles of music arranged or written expressly for the bass. Learn treble clef lines. Perfect the challenge of working an all bass ensemble. Compose or arrange your own music.

  3. Workshops - Attend classical or jazz cliniques or lectures given by visiting renowned bassists. Learn about repairs, restoration or building basses. Attend lectures by area or visiting health care professionals specific to musician injuries and prevention issues.

  4. Gigs - Join a 4,6, or 8 piece bass ensemble and have a chance to work in a group of various small local venues.

Wouldn’t you like to have this available to you?

WNEDBS is operating only by interested volunteers. There is no funding except for the Small Arts Lottery Grant for the big shows. Our costs are simple but mount up - speakers, programs, publicity, postage, and music copies are paid by ticket sales and out-of-pocket by a few members.

For the cost of one cd, your contributions of $20 adults/$15 students enable this society to keep bringing these things to you. Since we were founded in June 2000, we would like to request a yearly amount due in June. Giving today will secure our society for continued activities, and you will receive a yearly membership card! We value your presence, efforts and ideas.

President
